How to install VirtualBox on Windows 10 || Complete Guide

Introduction

When it comes to install new OS to a PC in a traditional way is very time consuming and if you already installed an OS and introducing a new one is required much technical knowledge and switching one OS to another is also a time-consuming process. VirtualBox helps you in this case. With the help of VirtualBox you can run multiple OS in your PC. So today we are going to explain how to install and configure Oracle VM VirtualBox in windows 10.

 

What is VirtualBox?

VirtualBox is a software that allows anyone to run multiple guest operating systems in a single PC. For example, if you have a PC that runs on Windows, when you install VirtualBox in that PC you can able to run multiple OS (Mac OS, Ubuntu). OS which runs inside the VirtualBox is running independently.

 

 

How to install VirtualBox in windows PC?

Step 1: Download VirtualBox for PC from https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/download from the download page, download binary version for windows host.

Step 2: After downloading, run the executable. From the open up window choose the location for installation.

Step 3: While installing you’ll get a network interface warning. Click ‘yes’ to continue the installation.

Step 4: Click ‘Install’ on the next screen.

Step 5: While installation, when a message appears to install Oracle Universal Serial Bus, click ‘Install’ to continue.

Step 6: When the installation finish, open the VirtualBox and you’ll see a message for installing the VirtualBox extension pack. Installing it will extend the functionality of VirtualBox.

If there is no message appear to install extension pack go back to VirtualBox’s download page and download the extension pack.

After download, go to File -> Preferences

Then select the extension. Click the browse button to find the downloaded extension pack. Select it and agree on the licensing terms and install it.

 

When you are done, you’re complete the installation you are ready to use VirtualBox.
